A Lufkin man has been arrested after leading officers from several East Texas counties on a high-speed pursuit on a stolen motorcycle. According to the Trinity Police Department, a Walker County deputy pulled over Daniel Spiecher, 33, of Lufkin, Monday evening for a routine traffic stop.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper arrested a Trinity couple on a variety of felony charges after their vehicle rolled over near the Lake L subdivision late Tuesday night, resulting in serious injuries to their two young boys. Joseph Collier, 34, and Melissa Thrasher, 32, were both arrested and charged with felony reckless injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

A Trinity murderer will go straight back to prison after signing a plea deal today for eight years in Texas Department of Criminal Justice for evading arrest twice within a few days according to the Trinity Police Department. According to arrest records, on August 1st, Officer Randy Wheeler arrested Hanson for evading arrest detention with a vehicle or watercraft on Trinlady Park Rd. Hanson was then arrested again on August 3rd by Chief Steven Jones and Officer Jeff Dean for evading arrest and detention along with driving while intoxicated - 3rd or more and misdemeanor possession of marijuana on Railroad and San Jacinto streets.

Austin, Houston bank merger to create $1 billion institution

The holding company of Pioneer Bank SSB has agreed to merge with the parent of a much larger financial institution, Sugar Land-based First Community Bank NA. Pioneer Bancshares Inc., based in Dripping Springs, just west of Austin, disclosed Thursday that the combined bank would report assets of $1.1 billion and 22 Texas branches.

A Texas man who stabbed to death a fellow oil field worker in a North Dakota hotel about four years ago is seeking to be released from state supervision. Thirty-seven-year-old Charles Davis, of Trinity, Texas, acknowledged killing 48-year-old Donald Flowers, of Wichita Falls, Texas, in a conference room at the Candlewood Suites in Minot in March 2011.

According to a post on the Trinity Police Department's Facebook page, A TPD officer received enough information to obtain a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 700 block of North Robb Street.

A former Trinity volunteer firefighter has accepted a plea bargain deal of 10 years of deferred adjudication for groping a then-16-year-old girl in September of 2015. As part of the plea bargain deal Ricky Harrelson, of Trinity, pleaded guilty to felony indecency with a child.
